Pemberian IUPHKM kepada KTH Betung Jaya berdasarkan Surat Keputusan Nomor: SK.5759/MENLHK-PSKL/PKPS/PSL.0/10/2017 tanggal 27 bulan Oktober tahun 2017 tentang IUPHKM pada kawasan Hutan Lindung seluas ±336 Ha di Desa Karang Jaya, Kecamatan Merbau Mataram, Kabupaten Lampung Selatan, Provinsi Lampung.

Sebelum diberikan izin, masyarakat telah memanfaatkan kawasan hutan dengan menanam dan memanen Hasil Hutan Bukan Kayu yang ada di areal tersebut. Setelah pemberian izin, Kelompok aktif menerima pendampingan dari pihak kehutanan dan melakukan pemanfaatan areal izin dengan fokus menanam tanaman MPTS, seperti Jengkol, Petai dan Durian. Seiring berjalannya waktu, kelompok mulai mengembangkan usaha Lebah Madu untuk meningkatkan pendapatan anggota.
